What sizes of cores are available for roll products?
We can rewind your product on to a variety of different core sizes. Our standard size cores include 1", 1-5/8", 3" and 4". Other sizes are available. Please contact a CSR if you have a special requirement.

What is meant by label repeat and why is it important?
The “repeat” of a label is the measurement from the top of one label to the top of the next label. This is the measurement that is used to determine if tooling is available for printing, die cutting and perfing the label.

Why is it important to know the size of the gap between labels on roll label products?
The gap is often used as a sensing mark for automatic label applicator equipment and for thermal and thermal transfer printers. Most of this equipment performs best with a minimum gap of 1/8" between labels.

What is your standard carrier margin width on roll labels?
Typically the overall carrier width on a roll label is 1/8" larger than the label itself. Of course, this measurement can easily be adjusted to fit your specific needs.

How large can the rolls be?
We have a variety of rewind equipment and can usually accommodate just about any size roll. The only exception to this would be “jumbo rolls” that are 40 to 50 inches in diameter used for continuous laser printing. We currently do not have equipment on hand to produce this product.

What is a “butt cut” label?
This term refers to labels that are on a roll that are separated by a single slit between the labels. In this construction there is no matrix removed from between the labels.

What is a Prime label?
A prime label is one that is applied to a product at the time of manufacture to help identify and /or promote the product. In most cases these labels have been designed by a marketing group in order to portray a certain product image. These labels are often process printed, multiple color labels designed to attract attention to that manufacturers product. This contrasts with data processing labels which are used for shipping, distribution, tracking, etc… Data processing labels are designed for functionality versus prime labels that are designed for aesthetics to get the customers attention.

Can you have a perforation between labels on a roll label product?
Yes, this feature can be added at no extra charge to most orders.

Where can I get an automatic dispenser for my roll labels?
Several companies make dispensers. We have had several of our customers use Dispensa-Matic equipment. Their web address is http://www.dispensa-matic.com

Do you provide dispenser boxes for roll labels?
Not at this time.
